Oh No! Not Another Survey!

But this one is different. Lack of suitable transport is a big problem highlighted in many community surveys. This survey is part of a project to solve the problem. The results will benefit you, and the members / users / customers / employees of your organisation or company, so please give as much information as you can, using the back of this letter and additional sheets if necessary. Please ensure that the name of your organisation is shown on all additional sheets.

Question 1 – What regular travel does your organisation undertake or organise now?

(Reason for journeys, frequency, time of day, numbers carried, how transport is currently provided, approximate transport costs)

Question 2 – What difficulties do you face in meeting these transport needs?

Question 3 – If suitable transport were easily available at reasonable cost, would your organisation make more use of travel facilities than now? If so, what additional travel would you undertake?

Question 4 – Do members of your organisation / employees / users of your services have individual travel difficulties? (e.g. in getting to your meetings or activities, or to work)

Question 5 – Community Transport can take many forms, e.g. a minibus service, MPVs and people carriers, voluntary car scheme and car sharing, etc. What kind of service would suit you best? What would you use it for? How often (on average) would you use it?

Question 6 – Would your organisation be able to provide drivers for a Community Transport Service? Would they drive just for your own organisation’s activities, or for other community groups who have no drivers of their own?

Question 7 – Do you have your own vehicles? If so, how many; what type and seating capacity; and are they accessible to people using wheelchairs?

Question 8 – If you have your own vehicles, would you be prepared to make them available for community use? (Assuming your costs are fully covered, and adequate arrangements made for vehicle safety and care)

Question 9 – People will be needed to run and organise Community Transport schemes. Would people from your organisation be interested in helping? If so, please give names and contact details.

Question 10 – Are there any other points you wish to make relevant to this survey, or ideas you have for improving local transport provision?
