JANUARY 2006

TRUSTEES NEEDED - Community Cancer Services (CCS) at 8 Dunraven Street, Tonypandy (near Hilda’s Florists) provides support to people experiencing cancer in Rhondda & Taff Ely. CCS is also looking to recruit dedicated people who would be willing to join  their management committee and also good souls who wish to become trustees.

People need to be able to attend meetings (probably monthly), to lobby and speak up on behalf of the charity. It would be useful if people had some experience of this type of work, especially if they were interested in a more high profile role, such as the Chair.

Most importantly, though, is a willingness to participate as a team player  in the best interests of a charity which has become an integral part of the community.

The Xmas Open day at CCS raised £198 for the charity, and thanks to everyone who participated in the event. The next fundraiser is an evening of  entertainment, which is set for Tonyrefail Non Political Club  on  Friday, February 10th @ 7pm.

If you wish to discuss the roles, and find out about the responsibilities of trustees, or find out about the forthcoming concert, ring 01443 421999/421888, or email: andrewsccs@tiscali.co.uk or communitycancer@tiscali.co.uk

LIVE BAND - Legendary punk rock powerhouse, Buzzcocks, were fired out of the cannon of the 1976 punk rock revolution. The band went on to score a hatful of hits with the nucleus of Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle at the fore of their finest chart achievements.

One of their towering anthems 'Harmony in my Head' explains exactly what their potent tunes leaves upon the lucky listener, for these boys combine melody and momentum, like no other!
