You can learn lots of new skills for free that might lead to a new job, higher education and all sorts of other opportunities. There are many and varied learning opportunities throughout the Citizens Advice Service. Of the 26,000 bureau workers all over the country, 20,000 are trained volunteers. CAB volunteering is an excellent path into paid work – nearly a third of the volunteers who leave the service go on to full-time education or employment. All training is free, expenses are paid, and support is provided every step of the way. By becoming a CAB trained adviser, you can be awarded the CAB certificate in generalist advice work which is equivalent to NVQ level 3. CAB volunteers can also gain experience and training as administrators, receptionists, providing IT support, marketing, interpreting, in PR or fundraising skills.
