Each month we aim to bring you a delicious? recipe devised by one of our very own culinary dabblers.

This recipe was apparently handed down to Ian Price of Cwmparc

 "Late Night Delight"

Here's a little late night filler my grandpa used to make around 1972 - 73.

Ingredients:

Two flagons of Strongbow, two tins of beans and a twin loaf preferably from Collins bakery in Treorchy.

Method:

First scoop the soft bread out of the centre of the twin loaf and set aside. Next find the largest saucepan in the house and pour in the cider and beans. Boil together with a vengeance.

Once sludge has formed pour it into the scooped out loaf shell and consume whilst thinking that this is the finest cuisine ever prepared by man

Use the scooped out bread to soak up any residue and save for breakfast.

Of course there are as many variations of this dish as there are fools who try it.

Remember it is an acquired taste.
