Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy lady. 6666666666666666666 "Winter Angel" Frost
on the ground, a chill in the air Winter
is coming, be careful, take care Look
all around you, steady your feet Watch
how you go through rain and sleet. Cold
hands, cold feet, cheeks all aglow Waiting
for the first fall of snow Flakes
of white, pure and light Silently
falling all through the night. Morning
has come, the streets are all white Dare
I go out, I think I might I
wrap up warm, I walk with care I
try not to notice the cold in the air I
make my way slowly over the hill And
battle against the winter chill Steady
now, keep on going, not a trace of fear showing. I’m
safe now, I’m on the flat I
shrug my shoulders, I pull down my hat I
walk with confidence in my stride I
feel an Angel by my side My
Guardian Angel’s at my shoulder I
feel my steps get stronger, bolder As
I walk protected and loved I
thank my guide from up above. Always
with me, always there Always
showing tender care I
may not notice every time The
loving thoughts entwined with mine But
when I need my Angel near I
know he’s there with love, so clear. by Mary Ellis 55555555555555555555555555 *Treorchy.net sends many thanks again to Mary - keep 'em coming! and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
