Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a local lady. 6666666666666666666 "Treorchy, Where I live" It’s
just around the corner To
a supper market store, To
the bus stop and the station, Who could ask for more? On
a Thursday, there’s a market Where
people browse and buy Anything,
from hanging baskets To a steak and kidney pie. There’s
a Library, just refurbished It
really is quite swish, There
are cafes and three chip shops Selling gorgeous battered fish. There are chemists and two dentists If
you’re lucky to have teeth, And
three very classy florists If you need to buy a wreath. There’s
Optometrists and a beauty shop If
you want to look your best. And
a choice of Funeral Parlours When your time has come to rest. Fashion
shops, boutiques and jewellers There
are travel agents too And
just outside the library Is a shiny Tardis Loo. There
are D.I.Y and sports shops, We
really have it all, But
the jewel in Treorchy’s Crown Is Park and Dare, The Miners Hall. by Anna Brown 6666666666666666666 *Treorchy.net sends thanks again to Anna - do keep 'em coming! and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
