Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a young Treorchy lady who now attends Ysgol Gyfun y Cymer. 6666666666666666666 "The Monster in my House" There’s a monster living in my house He wears a baseball cap And if he comes into my room I’ll give him such a slap.
He gobbles up great mounds of food But only mash and beans He won’t eat fruit or meat or fish And certainly not greens.
He stomps about from room to room But we know where to find him Discarded coca-cola cans He leaves a trail behind him.
I think this monster must be deaf He likes his music blasting He must have got some magic powers ‘Cos his soap is everlasting.
Now a little bird has told me That this monster’s here to stay At least until my brother James Has grown and moved away.
