Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a local lady. 6666666666666666666 "That Woman in My Mirror" I think and feel just 21 But when I stop and stare Into the mirror on the wall I don’t recognise who’s there.
I know the eyes; they are clear and brown And the lashes are jet black, But the white haired woman with hanging jowls Is a stranger who stares back.
I turn around and she turns too, She copies everything I do, I stick out my tongue and slant my eyes, She does the same to my surprise.
I step to the side, out of her view, And try to catch her out By quickly stepping back again But she’s there, with her scowling pout.
I’m determined she wont beat me I’ll creep down stairs tonight, She won’t know that I am there, I won’t put on the light.
Quick as a wink the mirror will be Ripped from the wall in a flash I’ll run with it into the yard And throw it in the trash.
Then, I’ll settle down to growing old It’s really not so bad. As long as I don’t look in mirrors, 'Because, that woman will drive me mad ..
