Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy gentleman. 6666666666666666666 "R.I.P." They said he was a lovely chap Kind to dogs and all that crap A man who lived life to the full Achieving goals and all that bull.
The preacher's voice drones on and on My thoughts roam, Oh! so far Into the past, to days long gone Dear memories time can't mar.
My friend, the eulogy did paint In colours quite amazing It showed him like a ruddy saint All sins and faults abrading.
But when he finds that Pearly Gate The angels loud will cheer And greet my very best old mate With foaming pints of Beer.
