Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy lady. 6666666666666666666 "Remember When" The
snow fell down, the rain did too I
didn’t fall thank God, did you? The
countryside was white and aglow Now
look and see the mess below. Grey
slush, and slippery road, you’ll see No
more childish shouts of glee. Children
played happy and gay A
time of fun that lasted three days. The
sun shone bright, the days were cold Freezing
new plants, killing the old But
don’t be sad for the things that are gone Soon
snowdrops and crocus will peep through the lawn. Remember
when the sun shone When
all was clean and crisp that morn Soon
winter will end and you’ll forget The
cold in the air, the ice on the step. Warm
days will come and again we’ll see Children
playing happy and free So
remember now these days with glee Forget
the roads are slippery Look
for the springtime, for soft warm air For
warm sunny days without a care. by Mary Ellis 55555555555555555555555555 *Treorchy.net sends many thanks again to Mary - keep 'em coming! and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
