Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy gentleman. 6666666666666666666 "Parasite
City" It was just a fishing port Though it had an ancient fort On the estuary bank of Afon Taff
Till there came a man named Bute And he thought it rather cute To build a dock, perhaps just for laugh!
But his lands were filled with coal So it got a new found role As a centre of the booming fuel trade
And it grew and spread unbidden To a great industrial midden Thus a haven for the parasites were made
While the nasal "Kairdiff" whine Sends all shivers down my spine So I plug my ears against its awful wail
Though they voted 'gainst the leek They still have the ruddy cheek To call themselves the Capital of Wales.
