Here's a second offering to Poet's Corner from a gentleman in Llwynypia, Rhondda.

"Night Walker"

He scours the streets,

Hills and alleys in the hours of darkness -

Looking for fresh prey.

I have seen him at witching hour,

Peeking from behind trees.

Stay off the avenues, beware

Of the moon. You won’t see

Him coming – just feel the steel

In your back.

In the garden - creeping

In the milky shadows.

You think you see a shape -

The washing line sways; are

They cats eyes you see?

Keep the reins tight on

Your mind – don’t let it

Run away.

He has been at my window

At the dead of night - a

Tap, tap, tapping…
