Here's an offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy lady. 6666666666666666666 "Nature's
Dream" Some time ago I
felt so low I had to watch
the trees slowly go Mechanical
monsters tore up the land I felt as if
they’d cut off my hand. Each day I look
to se what’s done And as I look I
want to run I cannot bear
the sight I see I feel so bad,
I feel misery. All I see now
are empty holes Dug by the
monsters coloured gold No more
birdsong filling the air Just noisy
machines working there Changing the
landscape, tearing up plants Molding the
mountain according to plans. Mother Nature
had plans, so what of these She gave us the
mountain, the plants and trees But man has
decided they had to go To safeguard
the houses down below. So each day I
awake to the sound of machines Putting an end
to nature’s dream. by Mary Ellis 55555555555555555555555555 *Treorchy.net sends thanks to Mary - you've said it like it is, hopefully the mountain works will be all completed by the Autumn. and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
