"Movie Magic"

 

Where are all the films we used to see so many years ago

From MGM, Columbia, Paramount, Republic and RKO

 

Silent films, black and white, then came the advent sound

The Jazz Singer was all the rage with everyone around

 

Busby Berkeley's Kaleidoscopic patterns were marvelled by many millions

Were used again in water with the swimming star Esther Williams

 

Colour next came on the scene to make more real our belief

VistaVision, CinemaScope and 3D was next, but only brief

 

Todd AO, Cinerama and Sensurround, you felt that you were there

A Tidal Wave, or Earthquake, or all the fun of the fair

 

Special effects are big business now, but cost so much to make

So let's get back to storyline and acting which we know is not fake

 

Three hours entertainment at the pictures was what you had

Now one film only, adverts, and interval, it really makes me sad

 

There's much more sex and violence around in films today

So bring back all the films from years ago is all that I can say

 

I don't go much to films today, which I think is a little tragic

I miss the films we used to see, and all that Movie Magic
