Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from ex-Treorchy Gillian Jones.

"Llewellyn ap Gruffydd Fechan"

On the road to Llandovery
Rain shadowed beauty
Guided me to the ancient site
Where Llewelyn suffered barbaric rite
His broken body hewn, cut down
Now silvered stands above the town.

Braveheart, none braver
He defied the invader
On sheep cropped grass now children lie
Where foreign killers watched him die.
