Here's another offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy lady. 6666666666666666666 "Just For A Moment" I stood by the window silent and still, I watched a small bird peck through seeds with its bill, He looked all around and listened for sound, But all was silent, no one around.
He must have felt safe as he ate his fill, As he pecked away near the windowsill, He hopped down the steps and onto a tree, He didn't see me as I watched happily.
He sat for a while, which made me smile, For I could see a glint in his eye, He looked at me but he didn't fly, And just for a moment I wondered, why?
But then I know, the reason was this, He felt my love as I blew him a kiss, He cocked his head, and looked again, I smiled at him through the windowpane. He looked around, then flew on his way I hope we meet again someday. by Mary Ellis 55555555555555555555555555 *Treorchy.net sends thanks again Mary for another lovely poem - keep up the good work! and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
