"Empty Nest"

 

The  day  before  she  died

I  fed  my  mother

Hospital  food  -- fodder 

Sustenance  hopelessly  plied.

 

The  spoon  flashed  quickly

She  seized  it  like  a  nestling

The  circle  now  complete.
