Here's a first offering to Poet's Corner from a gentleman in Brora, Sutherland, Scotland. 6666666666666666666 "Elvis' Treorchy Memories" Love me tender, love me true Treorchy ladies I won't forget you You'e the prettiest things on God's earth Nothing can match you from here to Perth.
If Elvis came back then there's one thing I know He'd sure come to Treorchy to do a show He sure wouldn't sing rap or soul You'd get Jailhouse Rock and King Creole.
He'd sing for you his every song And put everything right that is wrong He'd sing 'Loving You' and 'G.I. Blues' 'Hound Dog' and 'Blue Suede Shoes'.
I'm a big Elvis fan and I promise you After hearing 'Love Me Tender' you would be too And with all my Treorchy memories it is said The spirit of Elvis will never be dead. by Malcolm Wilkinson (From an old fellow with a yellow beard, bushy eyebrows and horned rim glasses. p.s .If you play my CD you'll know it's true - a bit of Elvis is always with you...) 55555555555555555555555555 *Treorchy.net sends thanks to Malcolm - and best regards to Sue - (by the way, you're secret's safe with us Elvis, we won't tell anyone where you are!) and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
