Here's another poignant offering to Poet's Corner from a Treorchy gentleman. 6666666666666666666 "Ducks
on the River" Ducks on the river, lovely to see I never thought - one day I'd see Ducks on the river
River is clean, gone is the coal Lazy days - men on the dole Ducks on the river
Proudly we worked, river was black Now there is nothing - poverty's back Ducks on the river
Our wonderful rulers, given our trust Labour or Tory - just throw us a crust For the ducks on the river . by William Ashton 55555555555555555555555555 *Treorchy.net sends thanks to Bill for sharing his poems with us! and if anyone else would like to contribute to our poet's corner then e-mail your unpublished work to news@Treorchy.net **Treorchy.net reserves the right to illustrate any submissions - copyright of all poetry remains with the authors and should not be reproduced in any form without prior permission. |
