Here's a first offering to Poet's Corner from a Pentre lady. 6666666666666666666
"Colours
of the Season"
Slate grey skies, searing winds, trees torn
asunder
Scudding clouds, lightning's flash, menace
roll of thunder
Sleet, snow, slush and hail, puddles, mud
and rain
People hurrying, head-bent, scurrying, storm
and hurricane
Turquoise skies, fluffy clouds, breezes
softly blowing
Filigrees of bare trees, weaving, dancing,
willowing
Morning sun pale and trembling, shafting
over daisied meadows
Ever shifting light and shade, till
evening's purple shadows
Azure skies, domed on high, haze of heat
aquiver;
Country gardens lush with blossoms, cool
meandering river
Perfumed breeze, drowsy bees, sunlight all
aglimmer
Welcome fall of evening's dusk, moonlight's
silver shimmer
Golden skies, earth aglow, abundant,
overflowing
Orchard boughs hanging low, dappled apples
bowing
Poppies waving midst the ripples of the
golden corn
Hedgerows thick with nuts and bramble, mist
at early dawn
Red streaked skies, falling leaves,
sparkling, frosty mornings
Birds migrating, squirrels hoarding, heeding
Winters warning
Tang of Autumn, bonfires burning, crisp
carpet's red and gold
Summer's over, dark clouds threaten, as the
year grows old.
