Here's a poignant first offering to Poet's Corner from a Treherbert lady.

"Anniversary"

Time is a healer 

or so they say

but here I am 

another day,

bereft 

and really blue

because I 

am missing you.

"Be strong" you said 

"as you always are" 

but I didn't know 

it would be this hard. 

For twenty three years you were my life 

and I was so proud to be your wife 

So darling wherever you are make room for me

because I can face the years to come...

as long as I know that someday 

you will take me in your strong arms and say 

"I've waited so long for this day" 

and all the time will melt away....

I love you so much 

and that is taken as read 

and one day we'll be 

together once more. 

So for now my darling 

I will only say "Happy Anniversary"

and hope my pain will go away...

at least for another day.
