Just when you think you've heard it all, someone brings us another mind-boggling piece of info.

That's right - you tell us - and we'll tell the world!

Here's a view of what the residents of the riverbank side of David Street, Treherbert have had to put up with recently...

and listed below are a few of the comments/complaints we received in May 2008...

"Dead chickens thrown over the fence into our river"

"Horse manure shovelled over the fence"

"Rats as big as dogs"

"Flies and all sorts"

"Why should we have to put up  with this all the time"

"Never had this problem until the horses and chickens and dogs came there"

We asked what the situation was now we are in September 2008...

and sadly the response from a local resident was...

"There is no improvement to the situation - despite all authorities having been contacted."

"Every time we have heavy rain, which seems all the time, the horse manure gets washed down the river so it sort of chips away at the heap, leaving more room for more"

So, why is this apparent pollution to the watercourse being allowed to continue?

DID YOU KNOW

Arriva trains Wales have concocted a fiendish roundabout service between Porth and Ystrad Rhondda.

With regular monotony certain trains reaching Porth from Cardiff are so late that in order to make up time there is a non stop service between Porth and Ystrad stations.

This means that those wishing to alight at Dinas, Tonypandy or Llwynypia stations either have to wait for the next train, which might also be late, or travel up to Ystrad and catch the down train that has to wait there until the up train has arrived.

This was the situation on Tuesday 25th October 2005 when the 1500pm Porth to Treherbert was running late.  The guard gave the passengers the bad news and many decided to stay on until Ystrad.  Being keen to get home they scampered off at Ystrad, galloped over the bridge and jumped on the down train.

Then the surreal happened.  The guard told them the train was going non stop to Porth because they were running late.

What do you think Arriva Wales are up to?

Can you imagine an endless cycle of journeys between Ystrad and Porth where the passengers wanting to get off at Llwynypia, Tonypandy and Ystrad will live in a never ending limbo?

Their families will have to gather at these stations to throw food to their nearest and dearest and hold up their children as the train speeds past.

Did you know... when exactly was that bomb dropped here?

UPDATE - Nov 1st 2005

Locals will be only too sadly familiar with the Treorchy scene above...

...unfortunately practically every visitor that comes here also gets to see this horrific little 'bomb crater' that now blesses the site of our former snooker hall and once long-time favoured bingo premises...

so who now owns this shambles and when exactly do they intend to either build something worthy of its spot-on location at the very heart of our village

or at least drain and fill in this possible local health hazard?

e-mail magazine@treorchy.net if you have any info about this site - please!!!

update: 27th October 2005

"You ask on Treorchy.Net about who owns the site near the railway station which you describe as a bomb site.  The land registry will be able to provide you with all the information you need for £4.  Two pounds for a drawing of the site and the other for the title deeds copy.

Hope that helps

Richard Clarke"
