NOTICEBOARD....

YOUTH CENTRE NEWS - Treorchy Youth Centre Junior and Senior Football teams took part in a competition at the Astroturf pitch in Pontypridd on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Some of the team also going to take part in a coaching programme at Nantymoel Boys and Girls Club in Bridgend, at the end of June to gain and improve their skills.

The Youth Centre went on a trip to Oakwood Theme park on June 21, 2008.

Our plants were thriving at the Allotment, cabbages were planted by Youth Centre Members on June 4, our runner beans have started to climb the sticks, beetroot is growing - as well as the peas - so we must be doing something right!

Thanks to the Staff who are overseeing the Allotment project - Rebecca Williams, Mark Davies and Jennifer Terry. Also thanks for the support of Treorchy Allotments member Phil, who has supported the staff and Youth Centre Members. Some of the produce will be given to Ystrad Ffechan Home for the Elderly where the Youth Centre Members also planted the flowers in tubs for Spring and also bulbs in the Autumn. The Youth Centre finances this project.

Good news, Carl Tidball, the volunteer dance Coach, is back in the Centre after his knee operation and is ready to go forward with future developments with the young people involved in the Dance activities.

Sarah Evans, the newly elected Treorchy Councillor, is to have a surgery at the Youth Centre on the first Wednesday each month from 6 till 7.00 for young people, so any young people from 11 to 25 are welcome to come and see her there with any issues or ideas they have.

Finally, Jennifer Terry would like to thank all the youth members, and staff at the centre for supporting all the various projects that have taken place at the Treorchy Youth Centre this year, another eventful year with lots of success.

YOUTH FORUM

Members of the Treorchy Youth Centre gave up their time in the Easter 2008 holidays to go on a residential course with the Youth Forum to Aberdare Country Park.

They were involved in workshops that gave out lots of information, which they will now be able to pass on to others in the Youth Centre over the coming weeks.
