2004 at Oak Tree Hall, Treorchy
The Members of Treorchy
Senior Citizens Club met at Oak Tree Hall for their Annual Christmas
Buffet Lunch.

Special
guests for the afternoon were three members of staff from The Treorchy
Co-operative Supermarket. Mr Mark Evans (Manager),
Mr Rob Wilson (Deputy Manager) and Mr Winford Matthews (Grocery
Manager), who presented the club with a refrigerator, a microwave oven,
and a table and four chairs.

Mrs Worman
thanked the guests and all their staff for their generous donations.
She told the members that this week alone the Co-operative staff
had presented a hamper and a floor standing hair dryer to Ty Ross, 170
selection boxes to Rhondda Special school and Cwmparc school had been
rewarded with a hamper for plates they had produced to decorate the
Supermarket. Llwynypia
hospital had also received a microwave oven.

A Buffet
lunch followed grace, which was said by Mrs Beryl Rowe.

Before the
afternoons entertainment commenced...

twenty-one
members were lucky winners of the free Christmas Raffle...

and the members enjoyed their festive fare...

along with the friendly
company.

Thanks to Mrs Beryl Rowe for
the table decorations....

and to everyone who
contributed towards the raffle.

Entertainment for the
afternoon included Mr Alf Picken, who delighted everyone with ‘Oh!
Holy Night’ and ‘Walk with Pain in Your Heart’.
Mrs Kath
Davies, accompanied by Mrs Sheila Ellis, gave a splendid performance of
‘Mary’s Child’ and ‘Christmas Night’

Thanks to
Mrs Kath Davies, Mrs Sheila Ellis and Mr Alf Pickin for an excellent
programme of entertainment.

The
afternoon concluded with Sheila accompanying the members...

in a festive sing-along to a selection
of Christmas Carols...

with plenty of gusto in
evidence around the hall...

and a genuine
reluctance to leave from those who had to go early...

and as the festivities drew
to a close at the end of a most pleasant afternoon...

a
vote of thanks was given to the committee by Mrs Josie Elias.
Thanks to all
the male helpers who are always available to lend a hand and give support.
Finally thank you ‘Staff and Customers’ of the Treorchy
Co-operative.
The
Committee would like to wish everyone ‘A Merry Christmas and a Happy and
Healthy 2005’.
