These are all estate maps 

  • Three large maps pinned together: Plan No 1 referred to [Gilfach Uchaf]; Plan No 2 referred to [Waun-y-Gilfach & Ty-nton] and Plan No 3 referred to [Gilfach Ganol]. These deliniate in different colours, parcels of land around the same area. Surnames written on shets include:- Mackworth, Margam, and Llewellyn, with the latter being the majority holder. 

  • No VII Cwm Risca in the Parish of Langonayd date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. Names around farm include Baydan, Sir John Nicholl, Lord Adair,  Tom Phillip Guest, Cefenydfa, Forddy Gyvraith. Inside this folded map, tracing from copy of parish made 1539, done Feb 8th 1921; pinned to this, lists of fields with sizes, headed with names Vicar, Reynold Jones, Baidan, Gilfach. 

  • No VIII Baydan in the Parish of Langonayd date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. Names around farm include Guest Esq, Baydan Hill, Cwm Risca, Forddy Gyvraith, Ton Phillip, Lord Jersey. 

  • No IX Baydan Hill in the Parish of Langonayd date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. Names around hill include Cwm Risca,  Lord Jersey, Maescadlor – looks like division of sheep grazing.

  • Audley Mackworth Esquire’s property  Box Cottage date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted.

  • Tyn-y-caia in the parish of Tythegston date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted.

  • Audley Mackworth Esquire’s property with Dunraven property on either side date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, Folded inside this, mounted.A2 folded map showing two areas. One has names Coytrachen, Pont Coytrachen. Other Cwm-risca, Cwm-bach, Baiden

  • 3’ x 4’ map showing plan within referred to Collena Estate

  • Wern du Fram in parish of Cadoxton date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. 

  • No XIII Gilfach Genol in the parish of Langonoyd date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. Map on one page, apportionment on another with pencilled notes. 

  • Lands near Bridgend in the parish of Coyty date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. 

  • Audley Mackworth Esquire’s property  round Mackworth Arms on parish road from Bettws to Coedtrahen, date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. 

  • Audley Mackworth Esquire’s property on parish road from Bettws to Coedtrahen, next to land leased to My Jenkin Elias, date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. 

  • Farms in the parish of Laleston; date 1929 “referred to in the Declaration of Albert John Treharne”. A3 size on linen, mounted. Surnames Margam, Bennett, Griffith

These are permanent loans of primary source material, the property of Evan and Ruth Jones of Llandrindod Wells, Powys. 

Evan’s father, John [“Jack”] B. Jones was the oldest and longest serving solicitor in Wales, 

practising for sixty years until very shortly before his death at the age of eighty-five.
