  • Grants of administration to E. G. Jones re J.B. Jones died 7 June 1969. 

  • Many papers relating to the death of J.B. Jones inc tax matters, with mention of Margaret Thomas deceased [21 Tunnel Rd, Llanelli] and Daniel Audley Thomas deceased. Includes letters to Evan G Jones from Glyn at 19 John St Llanelli. Letters from Glyn re some court case involving J.B.Jones.

  • Many papers relating to sale of Pentre Cottage. All very painstakingly done by Evan!

  • Hardbacked alphabetically indexed rent book 11.5" x 11" containing names and addresses in Pentre area. No date.

  • Foolscap booklet in orange paper cover of transcript of proceedings of third day of John Edgar Arnold James [plaintiff] v George Edward Maslin [defendant] The Guildhall, Swansea Wednesday November 19th 1930. An action for slander re bribery. Includes the summing up of the case. Concerns Rhondda Council matters.

  • Foolscap booklet of Notes of proceedings for the third day of the case of John Edgar Arnold James [plaintiff – at the time, Assistant Solicitor to the Council] v. George Edward Maslin [defendant] before Mr Commissioner Mitchell-Innes K.C. & a special jury at the Guildhall, Swansea, Wednesday November 19th, 1930.

  • Case was about ‘purity of municipal administration in the Rhondda’ involving bribery for advancement, and Communism. 

  • 12” x 11.5” hardbacked alphabetically indexed book  for interest payable, containing names, addresses and dates that interest was due. Areas include Pentre, Ystrad, Maerdy, Tonyrefail etc. 

  • Bundle of ‘Balance Sheet & Accounts’ 1951 – 1961 for J.B. Jones [practicing as Treharne & Treharne, Pentre.]

These are permanent loans of primary source material, the property of Evan and Ruth Jones of Llandrindod Wells, Powys. 

Evan’s father, John [“Jack”] B. Jones was the oldest and longest serving solicitor in Wales, 

practising for sixty years until very shortly before his death at the age of eighty-five.
