  • Letter replying to Evan, dated 30 April 1963, to effect that Agnes condition deteriorating and that she was incapable of looking after herself, asking Evan to help.

  • Papers relating to the state of the late Miss Agnes Jones, Evan G Jones' late aunt. Includes list of contents of deed box - jewellery. Letter from Simon Davidson to Evan & Ruth dated 6 Dec 1967 re clock etc. She had been in a nursing home at Romilly Rd, Cardiff.

  • Copy of will of Agnes Jones of 47 Cathedral Rd Cardiff, dated 1st June 1955.

  • Agnes died 2nd February 1968 aged 78, after a long illness. Was daughter of the late Mr & Mrs Evan Jones of Queen Victoria Rd, Llanelli. Her father died in 1943.

  • List of Agnes' possessions in 1967, including what was sold to who [some sold to Jean, some to Evan.

  • Bundle of papers relating to Court of Protection, Evan taking over Agnes' affairs. Contains letters from Marjorie & Uncle Fred mentioning family members.

  • Letter from Jean Davidson in 1967 mentioning an imminent visit to Holland by Evan & Michael.

  • File of papers re Agnes re Income tax.

  • List of furniture, china etc purchased from flat at 47 Cathedral Rd, Cardiff March 1964.

  • Various papers inc letters from Davidson family members. 

  • Letter from Evan to Edgar & Frances 29 Dec 1964 re Agnes etc. 

  • Letter from Mrs F C Vaughan-Jones S Africa to Evan re Agnes and Uncle Edgar 19 Aug 1964, Edgar then 87.

  • Letter from Jean in Bogota, Columbia Christmas 1963.

  • Miss A Jones, Bay View, Llanelli; list of items sold at 1, Cowell St, Llanelli, 16 Feb 1944

  • Envelope marked "Agnes - SCRAP" e

The papers have been placed with the Glamorgan Record Office, The Glamorgan Building, King Edward VII Avenue, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NE

These are permanent loans of primary source material, the property of Evan and Ruth Jones of Llandrindod Wells, Powys. 

Evan’s father, John [“Jack”] B. Jones was the oldest and longest serving solicitor in Wales, 

practising for sixty years until very shortly before his death at the age of eighty-five.
