Contains:  List of estate duty papers, relating to the death of Mary Emily Williams of 2, Colhugh St, Llantwit Major.

Died 6th April 1959.

Papers continue to 1965.

Contains:  List of title deeds relating to Mr W. Lemons to David Treharne Esq. 

Freehold farm and land known as Castella situate in the parish of Llantrisant in the County of Glamorgan. (1610 - 1917)

Contains:  List of papers of J B Jones solicitor -  including grants of administration to E G Jones re JB Jones died 7 June 1969 and ref to  proceedings for 3rd day of case of John Edgar Arnold James  v. George Edward Maslin before special jury at the Guildhall, Swansea, Nov 19th, 1930 re: ‘purity of municipal administration in the Rhondda’ involving bribery for advancement, and Communism. 

Contains:  List of variety of leases dating from 11th September 1857 to 2nd October 1963. Contains: List of estate maps - various parishes.

Contains:  List of estate duty papers, 1964 and 65 Papers relating to the J.B.J. handling the sale of property belonging to Gwladys Jane Lewis deceased, 7 May 1964. Contains:  List of papers relating to William Bramwell Jones died 29/01/1954 aged 80, in Mount Pleasant Hospital, Llanelli. Contains:  Lists of various letters of administration - probate -  wills - mortgages - rights of way - grants of easement etc. Contains:  More lists of letters of administration - probate -  wills - mortgages - rights of way - grants of easement etc. Contains:  List of papers relating to the late Miss Agnes Jones, formerly of 47 Cathedral Rd Cardiff,

 

The papers have been placed with the Glamorgan Record Office, The Glamorgan Building, King Edward VII Avenue, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NE

These are permanent loans of primary source material, the property of Evan and Ruth Jones of Llandrindod Wells, Powys. 

Evan’s father, John [“Jack”] B. Jones was the oldest and longest serving solicitor in Wales, 

practising for sixty years until very shortly before his death at the age of eighty-five. 

The papers were wrapped into individual bundles and catalogued for easy reference by Mike Redwick-Jones & Susie Stockton-Link, 

before being presented to the Glamorgan Records Office.

Many thanks to Mike & Susie for sending us this fascinating glimpse into the past.
