VENN

Hi, I'm starting to research my family.

My father, William Alfred Charles Venn, was born,1 Aug;1898 in Penarth, and he died in Bournemouth, Hants, 31 July,1978. Prior to his leaving Treherbert, he was a surveyor at the Tydraw Colliery, accompanist for the Tydraw Male Voice Choir and organist at the English Wesleyan Church.

His father was William H. Venn, stationmaster at Tonypandy and Trealaw, and later at Treherbert.

I think my great-grandfather was a Mr. C (Charles?) Venn of Dingle Road, Penarth.

I also believe my grandmother's name was Edith, (nee Perry), and she was born at Roath, in 1875.

Any further information would be much appreciated.

Thanks for posting my message on your website. Actually I've now traced the Venn family back to1760.Thomas Venn was born in Awliscombe, Devon, and my great-grandfather Charles, was the first member of the family to move from Corfe, Somerset to S. Wales.

I'd still appreciate any info on my grandmother, Edith Perry, b.1875, in Roath, Mon.

Thanks!
