September 2009 Looking for distant family members namely any family of Malcolm Jenkins born in Treorchy whose father was William Jenkins, and mother was Dilys nee Pritchard (born 15/06/1913 in Treorchy). Also any family of Elizabeth Mary (Betty) nee Pritchard born in Treherbert, whose father was William David Pritchard (born 19/02/1905 in Treorchy), and mother was Marg a. Pritchard nee Jones. Any information what so ever would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Susan Pritchard (youngest daughter of James Henry Pritchard (born 30/01/1910)and Muriel Hilda Pritchard nee Calper) * * * 9th January 2009 I don’t know if you can help me or point me in the right direction. I am trying to trace a relative with little information to go on. Her name is Claire Louise Jones and she would be around 32/33 years of age. Her mother's name is Ann Marie Jones who had a brother Terrance Jones (known to his friends as Terry or "Tez" and I was told he was a chairman of the Conservative Club in Treorchy who would be around 56 yrs now) I believe Claire may also have had another uncle named John Jones who was a doctor, and possibly another uncle David Jones. Ann moved to Treorchy with Claire just after Claire was born. She was born in Haverfordwest Hospital in Dyfed. I hope someone out there can help. many thanks, Shane Harvey welshieharvey@tiscali.co.uk 19 MELTON ROAD * * * 19th August 2008 I don’t know if you can help me or point me in the right direction. I am trying to trace my family tree with little information to go on. I have a birth certificate of a Cissy Jones born 16.8.1908 to parents Llewellyn Jones and Catherine (formerly Lloyd) from the district of Ystradyfodwg Pontypridd Glamorgan dated 28.11.1922. I am trying to trace Llewellyn and Catherine's history. I know that his wife's name was Jane, and that he died on March 6th 1939. He was buried in Treorchy Public Cemetery on March 11th 1939. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. His address at the time of death was 7 Sunny Bank, Cwmparc. My reason for these enquiries is that we believe that Thomas and his wife may have brought up my partner's mother, Doris. Unfortunately Doris died when my partner was just two years old so we know very little about his mother. Can anyone help? We also know that Doris attended Sunday School in Cwmparc because we have a couple of certificates awarded in 1922 and 1923. One is translated and refers to her learning and reciting the set work. The other is in Welsh, but is from Undeb Ysgolion Sabbothol y Methodistiaid Calfinaidd. Guesswork came up with the Methodist Sunday School - so Thomas and his wife may have been connected with the local Methodist Church? Thanks for your help. It would be wonderful if we could find our more about Doris!
