FAMILY TREES. . .   E to F

EVANS

Hi from Melbourne, Australia,

I sing with the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir and in October we travel to Wales to do a concert tour on our way to sing at the Royal Albert Hall, London, as part of the 21st Festival of Male Choirs Concert on October 18, 2008.

My parents were both born in the Newcastle-on-Tyne area.

Dad *(Thomas Evans*) came to Australia aged 16 in 1921 and Mum followed him in 1925.

Dad's father, *James Evans*, was born in *Treorchy*. He was a Journeyman Joiner and went to Newcastle to build all of the timber furniture and to fit-out the living quarters of a new Catholic Church in Newcastle.

James' parents owned and operated a Saddlery and sold horse carriages, etc.

Unfortunately I have no documentation of Dad's parents or siblings but I estimate that Dad's grandparents would have lived in the period 1860 to 1910.

I would like to trace my heritage while in Wales, can anyone help please.

EVANS

Am trying to collate information on my fathers family, Morgan Thomas Evans. (Ton Pentre)  His Grandfather, known to me as Noah Evans, 2, Carne St, Pentre

Cannot find any information on Census!

I have cousins, Pat, Mildred, John Davies from Cwmparc, (dad's sister Nancy) but cannot trace them,  and I know a cousin has returned from New Zealand, having emigrated there as a child.

Also cousins in Penygraig!. Marion, Dilwyn (Dad's sister Min?)

Born and brought up in Ton Pentre, I have lived away from Rhondda for almost 44yrs, and now living in North East England.

update 11th July 2008 ....After original piece in Family tree section regarding asking about information on my Grandfather Noah Evans, cousins have contacted me from Canada, Treorchy, Porth, Tonypandy, AUSTRALIA & New Zealand.
