I was born in Treherbert but left there when I was 3 weeks old, though the family retained a very strong connection.

A relative is studying our family tree and I am providing her with historical and local data.

Can you tell me:

A) The exact meaning of term Pen Pych. Have there been any recent developments re: the local Iron Age site found near there.

B) Whether your records show AJ Cronin, the author, worked in the area. A number of relatives insisted he was their doctor and they pronounced his name Cronn- in. Other sources say he worked in Tredegar.

C) Two or three months after I was born in February 1945, I was the subject of a murder hunt. A baby boy was found dead in a culvert and my parents asked to produce me by the local authorities where I lived. Treherbert was told I was a magnificent specimen of manhood; I doubt if this is still true. I have looked in the local papers for the time and not found anything. Do you have any info or can you direct me to somebody who may be able to help?
