Ystradyfodwg Art Society - Demo with Sue Gilmore-Powell

On Monday, 10th October 2005, the Ystradyfodwg Art Society were treated to a very entertaining and instructive evening.  

The demonstrating artist this month was Sue Gilmore Powell who painted in pastels

Sue, from Bristol, has a very entertaining personality and her demo was littered with some amusing anecdotes. 

During the two hour session she first painted a North Wales scene.  

We stopped for tea and biscuits and then Sue painted the view from her home overlooking the Severn Esturary.  

Both paintings developed with an instructive running commentary.  

Also Sue showed her method of viewing animals as shapes, such as triangles and oblongs etc., which was very helpful to the newer members of our group

The evening ended with a round of applause from a large appreciative audience.

The next demonstration evening will be on Nov. 14th at the Abergoki Hall, Treorchy at 7pm.

All Ystradyfodwg Art Society's demonstration evenings with an invited artist are open to the public. 

Entry is just £2 - all are welcome - and the price includes tea and biscuits at half-time!
