All Ystradyfodwg Art Society's demonstration evenings with an invited artist are open to the public. Entry is just £2 - all are welcome - and the price includes tea and biscuits at half-time!

John Harris, the artist for Monday evening's painting demonstration on the 11th April 2005 at the Abergorki Hall, Treorchy, travelled from Nottinghamshire.

John has visited us before and is very popular with the Ystradyfodwg Art Society.

John displayed his skills in the use of a new form of watercolour pencil and a brush which carried the water in the handle.

As expected we were treated to an excellent two hours entertainment.

In the second hour he switched to oil paints, which proved his versatility.

He gave some excellent tips on oil painting as he worked.

The time went too quickly as he worked and answered the many questions from an attentive audience.

There were also quite a few laughs heard as his friendly manner made the demo very enjoyable.

This regular mix of teaching and entertainment makes these demo's very popular and good value for the £2 entrance fee, including tea and biscuits at half-time.

Our next public demo' will be held on Monday, May 16th, at 7pm...

...when the popular Paul Weaver visits us from his home near Bath.
